I’m doing a bunch of post-Pennsic posts in a vain attempt to remember where I’m at! This one is going to try and note all of the sarees I have. Like many people who know Miriam…. I have a saree problem hahaha… I keep buying more, even without a plan in mind for all of them.
I store most of my saree wrapped around a pool noodle, held with silk ponytail holders, to keep from creasing them. I do have a few loosely tucked into a bag, for immediate use, but i like the pool noodle method best to be honest (even if i have to take the whole noodle apart to find the bottom layer!)
Green with gold embroidery and blue trim
Saffron ‘Oops all yellow!’- this saree has no trim or pallu, is 100% saffron!
Dark Green and gold- Turkish coat for mom? Lined with above saffron…
Confed Blue and Gold (ofc)- has a small rip, but Turkish for me? (Shout out to THL Rannveig and her Tale of Two Coats post here for inspo!)
Slate+painted flowers on trim
Royal Blue+green trim
Yellow + green trim- needs a wash
Seafoam green- sleeveless pirate shirt for Elina, one of many barter projects

Then we have some remnants to be used for trim and facings
Green+gold stripes- lengthen green linen under dress
Slate grey- Facing for black linen under
Red+Gold trim- sleeve trim for brown tunic
My hope is that in the long run, I can use a lot of this as trim, facing, and adding some zhuzh to my garb when I start to foray into Rus. I also have some lovely blue wool coming from Mood Fabrics that I want to make a Viking coat out of, and while it may not be period, wouldn’t a wool coat lined with wool be absolutely *decadent*
